The Wine of the Souls captures well the drama of seekers from Europe, North America and Israel making a journey not only to Juruá through the natural forces of the Amazon forest and its people and the rituals of the Daime but also into themselves. The results are both humbling and enlightening and, to the credit of its creators, the film’s revelations leave the people, the forest and the Mystery intact.
