Dear all,

At 6 p.m. New York time on the 31st of January, discoverer of Ibogaine’s anti-addictive properties, Howard Lotsof, passed away quietly in the Staten Island University Hospital.
His beautiful wife & best friend, Norma, was by right by his side. Howard Lotsof had been diagnosed with liver cancer last year and has continued his devotion to Ibogaine until his last days.

Being a young heroin addict, in 1962 he discovered the effects of Ibogaine on acute opioid withdrawal and craving, and its psychotherapeutic potential coincidentally after taking it, allowing him to end his drug addiction. Since that moment, he has dedicated his life to the development of Ibogaine as an available, medically approved medication until today, 48 years later.

His immense contribution to the future of the more than 200 million people with a drug dependence worldwide deserves great respect and recognition.
Howard Lotsof was a pioneer and inspiration to many, having initiated a rapidly growing ‘underground’ movement worldwide.

On behalf of ICEERS I would like to express our deepest condolence with his wife Norma for the loss of this great man,
and express our dedication to the continuance of his life-work.

Yours Truly,
