Santo Daime lecture in Vancouver February 11th, 2011
February 5, 2011Dear Friends,Brazilian Shaman Paulo Roberto will be giving a free lecture this Friday, February 11th from 7 to 9pm at the Dharma Lab. We are asking for a donation of $1.00 or more, if you can, to help cover the cost of the space. Thank you! This lecture is open to the public, so please feel free to invite your friends.Attached is a link to an enlightening talk that Paulo gave for Google last year called The Role of Sacramental Plants in Sustainable Communities: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpvoV6BKxisThis is a topic of Amazonian environmental momentum, involving the people of the forest, their spirituality and the social expansion of environmental consciousness.Paulo Roberto, a native of Brazil, is formally educated as a psychologist, and has devoted the last 30 years of his life to the study, practice and preservation of indigenous spiritual and shamanic rituals. He has lectured and conducted spiritual ceremonies around the world and has been instrumental in creating a culture of awareness and understanding around the use of sacramental plants. He is a contemporary Shaman who has lived and worked closely with indigenous tribes of the Amazon experiencing and studying their medicines and practices. He was invited by Google to share some of his knowledge and insights into the historical, environmental, legal and practical issues surrounding the use of sacred medicines of the Amazon in a spiritual and religious context.Paulo discovered this path over 33 years ago and has since helped bring this tradition out of the jungle and made it accessible across the world in 14 countries. This is an incredibly rare opportunity to gain personal insight into a medicine and spiritual practice that predates modern history, under the guidance of one of the world’s leading practitioners! The location of the Dharma Lab is:#202 - 1814 Pandora Street. Please see Google Maps for specific directions.https://web.archive.org/web/20170919134713/http://dharmalab.com/Please bring a cushion to sit on, drinking water for yourself and a $1- donation to go toward the space if you are able to.I look forward to seeing you there...Thank You,Love & Blessings,Renee Boje
