Summary:
Who uses Ayahuasca/Santo Daime for healing purposes in Europe? In which contexts do people consume the substance? What is the result of their struggle for healing or health? In the thesis of Janine Schmid about 15 people participating in European Ayahuasca/Santo Daime rituals have been studied who declare to be looking for healing from very different maladies - reaching from cancer to migraine. The study reports and analyses their subjective theories on health, disease and the process of becoming well. As far as possible objective data (diagnoses) on the change of disease processes through the use of Ayahuasca have been collected.
